Happy Easter!

Easter is such an amazing day! We are so thankful for the sacrifice that was made for us and that we serve a living God! It was a great Easter Sunday - we had a relaxing morning drinking coffee and playing with Brody before we went to church.

The 3 of us before church

After church, we ate lunch and went to the zoo.

We saw almost all the animals, and Brody's favorite was the ...

Ducks!

We also got rid of our dining room table this weekend so we could make a play area for Brody

He likes the play area, but still spends more time on the hardwood floors than the alphabet mat!

Sunday night, we met Cara and Marshall for dinner outside at Jackson's

Talledega!!

Our really good friends from Erie - Mike and Elena - came to visit us this past weekend. We were looking for something different to do, and since we are only 45 minutes from Talledega, and their visit just happened to be one of the 2 biggest races of the year there, we decided to go! We left Brody with a sitter and went for the day. We had no idea what to expect, but it was so fun and such a great experience! We really had a great time and learned a lot about Nascar racing!

Before the race

Waiting for the shuttle to take us to the entrance

Enjoying some good food!

The view from our seats - the cars went by so fast you could see them coming and going, but not when they are right in front of you!

When we got home, we picked up Brody and went to eat Mexican food. Brody is apparently enjoying it!

Elena and Mike

Brody had rice for the first time, and obviously loved it!

Having lunch at Jim n Nicks the next day

Brody enjoying his lemon!

We visited the Vulcan statue one day - the weather was great the entire time! We spent a lot of time outside on the back deck too

Elena and I - Jay built a fire outside one night

Brody hanging out with Mike! Thanks so much for coming guys! We are so thankful for you both and can't wait to see you in Erie this summer!

Brody discovered that he can eat his feet!

Look at me! He pulls up on everything!! He tries to pull up on doors and walls too, which is why he has bruises all over his forhead! He is also definitely a CRAWLER now! He can go to other rooms or wherever he wants!

Brody at storytime at the library

Some of the other babies after we finished singing and reading

The Easter bunny came a couple of days early - he apparently sends things in the mail! We got a package from Grandma and Papa and one from Gram and Pop on the same day, so it was fun checking out all the loot! Thanks Grandparents!!

Look at the big knot on my eye!!

At one point, he had 6 bruises on his face and cheeks!! Poor sweet baby!! He just loves getting into things and moving!

Brody Thomas - 8 months old!!

Brody is almost 8 months old! Here are a few things he is up to:

  • Weighs about 18 lbs

  • Goes to bed at 7:30 or 8 and sleeps until 7 - he sometimes wakes up and talks to himself before 7, but that is when we get him up. He usually naps 2 or 3 times a day.

  • He has been weaned to the bottle and drinks 4 6-oz bottles a day

  • Eats bananas and cereal for breakfast, a veggie for lunch (squash, carrots, etc), and a veggie and fruit for dinner (peas, green beans, apples)

  • He loves finger foods that he can eat himself

  • Started standing up on all fours last weekend; he can crawl a couple of steps, then scoot some and usually get where he wants - especially if it is the computer cord or the XBox

  • He loves giving his Mom and Dad lots of wet kisses - so precious!

  • Throws his head back to hang upside down, which he loves and just laughs when he does it

  • Babbles a lot, and some time "whispers" to us!

  • Started standing up in his bed! We lowered the matress, but he still loves to stand up and look around. When he first figured out how to do it, he wouldn't nap because it was just too much fun to do his new trick. He is napping better now! He also has a couple of bruises from hitting his head on the bed too - crazy boy!

  • My 2 teeth!

    Sleeping baby!

    Standing on all 4's

We ate dinner outside on Sunday and Brody played

Ha - look at me - I can stand up!
