Day at the lake!

Last weekend, Kara and Matt invited us to go to the lake with them and the kids.  We had so much fun, and Brody still talks about Heidi and Harlow all of the time!  We wanted to spend the night, but thought it might be too hard with both Brody and Emery and all of their "stuff"!  Maybe next time we will be able to get that together, but either way - we had a great time!
Hanging out on the porch of their cabin

Playing in the boat - Brody hated the life jacket at first, but finally accepted it and had a great time!

Feeding the fish - an activity all the kids loved!!

Sweet Emery!  She loves the Baby Bjorn!  This was our only hat that fits her too!  It did the job!

Going for a swim...Heidi loved it...Brody- not so much!

Having some dinner - thanks so much Kara and Matt - we had so much fun with you all!

Here is Brody's electric tractor Pop brought to us.  I think it was Tom's but they are letting us use it.  The nice thing is that it doesn't accelerate down the hill, like the bike does!  No wrecks so far, which is way better than the bike!  Brody loves to drive it!

1 month and 21 months

Emery is 1 month old and Brody is 21 months!  Here is a little about each one:
Emery - 8lbs 7 oz, 20 in - she has grown so much!!  She is eating well and sleeping better all the time.  She usually sleeps 4 to 4.5 hours at night, eats, then sleeps another 3.5 or so; however, last night she did go 6 hours between feedings, so lets hope that is a new trend and not a 1-time event!  She still cries a lot while awake, but we love her very much - she is our pretty little girl!  Look how much I have grown - from 1 week...

to 1 month...

I think you look a little like Brody did!

Brody - you are such a fun little boy right now!  You have an ever expanding vocabulary, and can repeat anything anyone says...so be careful what you say around Brody!!  You eat what we eat for dinner, and your favorite foods are olives, pistachios (although these are banned for a while because you tried to eat the shells!), crackers, chocolate, fruit shakes, and any fruit.  You are an awesome sleeper - usually from about 7:30 or 8pm to about 7:30am.  You are a great big brother and give "Mimi" kisses all day!  You enjoy your friends and talk about them all the time.  We still play outside a lot - in the sand, water, go on walks, see the diggers, and mow, among other activities!

Here are some other things that have been going on the past couple of weeks...trying on our life jacket to prepare for the lake with Kara and Matt and their family...Emery didn't really like it!  Hopefully she does ok at the lake this weekend!

Playing in the mud and water!

We love our friend Elle!

Sweet Emery has to eat and sleep outside during the day so we can keep an eye on big brother!

Matt, Libby, Tom and Austin came to visit last Sunday.  We had such a nice visit, and they took Brody home to stay with Gram and Pop for a few days, which was such a nice blessing because we hadn't been getting much sleep!  They all had chocolate milkshakes for dinner on the way home, and Brody still talks about the shake with Uncle Matt!

Gram brought Brody back on Wednesday and visited with us for a while

Gram and Pop came her on Saturday night so they could go to church with us on Sunday.  We went out to eat that night...

and had the baby dedication for both Brody and Emery on Sunday morning at church.  We had a wonderful and blessed Mother's day!  It was great to be able to dedicate my sweet babies to the Lord as well as have my Mom there!  Happy Mother's Day!

Busy, Busy, Busy!!

Our lives are much busier now!  We don't do a whole lot, but it is just non-stop with a VERY active 20 month old little boy and a sweet, precious (but very loud) 3-week old baby girl!  Brody is adjusting very well so far, and is a very good big brother.  He LOVES kissing the baby, and still calls her "baby"!  Emery is doing a little better about sleeping at night, but does like to cry a lot too!  She is a good eater, and up to almost 7 lbs now!  Our first "family outing" was last Saturday.  It took us about an hour to get the car seats and babies loaded and actually leave the house!  Once we left though, things went really well.  We did some shopping and errands and then had lunch at Whole Hog Cafe.  It will get easier!  They are both such a blessing, and make us smile every day - maybe not the whole day, but at least every day at some point!!

Aunt Libby came to visit!

Trying to eat Daddy's nose!  Brody did the same thing!

Emery at 2 weeks - I am going to use this bunny as a marker of her growth each month, so you will see this picture again!

Our 2 sweet babies!  They are such blessings!

They had a diaper/wiper shower at Jay's office for us this week.  It was so nice and sweet of them!

Notice the diaper motorcycle with the bear - Jay's assistant Jennifer planned the shower and made this!

Emery at 3 weeks old - she is eating well and growing!  She is almost 7 lbs now and outgrowing her preemie clothes!
